About

I believe that the world we live in is created by a single Consciousness that is playing the game of multiplicity. It creates innumerable forms, shapes and worlds from its own essence, so that through them, in multiplicity, it can experience and know Itself. In this exciting, spectacular Game of Life, there is only one player who plays the Game for the sheer joy of the game itself.

For me, artistic creation is a similar fascinating game. I am a player who creates for the joy of creation and through it, I get to know myself. The process of creation is miraculous. It’s in complete unity with my feelings, thoughts, fantasy and imagination. During the process itself the work is an integral part of me, however, after its completion it becomes a new, independent entity that begins to live its own, independent life. But this separation is only illusory, because we are forever connected by a mysterious bond. Every time I look at it, it opens up to me and whispers to me intimately who I really am.

Mgr. Maria Kovalcikova, art historian and curator:

“Color is an important means of expression in Lubica‘s work… She uses it to achieve spatial tension, plasticity, and a certain hint of a real plot. The pictorial composition leaves everyone with the possibility of their own content interpretation, observing the variability of the applied color structure. She paints for human imagination, which everyone has developed into specific sensory and optical experiences that are created under the influence of experienced life situations. Color, which is the inner, (time and space-creating) emotional essence of all of us, becomes an intermediary between human memory and the hectic pulse of today’s modern times.

In her creativity, Lubica embarks on two paths, which in some of her works complement each other: on an intimate poetic internalization realized with a palette knife and wide strokes of flat objects, and also on a dramatic expressiveness motivated by benevolently decomposed calligraphy inspired by street graffiti. The pictorial composition leaves everyone the opportunity to search and interpret the content for themselves. Her paintings are a free expression of an affective autonomy of the individual, achieved through a free handwriting and a spontaneous painterly vocabulary. The work does not have precisely defined boundaries, but playfulness and joyful unlimited spontaneity play a big role in it…”
